The John Harvey Carter Fund: The Green Incubator nameds it’s general fund after environmental leader John Harvey Carter, who exemplified responsible local environmental stewardship.
Who was John Harvey Carter?
John Harvey Carter was a prominent Sacramento architect and effective advocate for environmental protection. He served on the County Planning Commission and helped found the American River Parkway. An avid supporter of ECOS and Friends of ECOS, John was an advocate for sound land use policy, beautification of the urban area, and an end to urban sprawl. He was recognized as Environmentalist of the Year in 1986.
